CRYPTOCard makes a wide selection of tokens such as hardware, software and on-demand tokens that offer different user benefits.

Hardware Tokens are physical devices that, with the simple push of a button, generate a new one-time passcode. Configurable in many ways these tokens can deliver the highest degree of security.
A range of ‘intelligent’ tokens are available as Smart Card and USB devices – these provide additional applications capabilities such as the storage of certificates or the ability to integrate with door access control systems.
Software Tokens come in a variety of types. The token can reside on a user’s desktop or laptop (ideal and cost effective for anyone who only needs access from one computer) as well as being available for mobile equipment like our Software Token for Blackberry – which literally turns your Blackberry into your password generating device.
On-Demand Tokens are provided using the SMS text capabilities of your mobile phone. On-demand tokens, also known as SMS Tokens are the easiest tokens you will ever use. The unique “OTP-Now” feature means that every time you go to log-in to your network the One Time Passcode that you need is sitting on your mobile phone ready for use. There is no need to log-in to a web site, no need to make a phone call - simply open a text message and away you go. And with no software or hardware to distribute it is probably also one of the most cost effective ways of securing your network.
CRYPTOCard’s two-factor authentication solutions ensure that you provide strong protection for your online assets, while at the same time managing the competing priorities of:
Requirement 2 Do not use vendor-supplied defaults for system passwords and other security parameters
Requirement 8 Assign a unique ID to each person with computer access
A token is a network access ‘key’ that is most easily compared to a bank card – to gain access to a protected network a user must a have a token – in the same way they need a bank card to use an automatic banking machine. The token is the physical and first factor of the two-factor authentication process, sometimes referred to as the ‘something only you have’ and which delivers a unique One-Time-Passcode when you press a button.
As with you bank card, to prevent a problem with a lost or stolen token being used inappropriately, the token is protected by a secret PIN known only to the end user. The PIN is the second factor of authentication often referred to as the ‘something only you know’.
A token, while cryptographically complex and, from an engineering perspective, a truly high-technology security device, really has a simple job – it is used to generate the new one-time password for every network login attempt. (Each password can be used ONLY once after which it will never work again.)
The KT Initializer, with its USB interface, is required for initializing KT range of tokens. Initializing allows the tokens to be programmed to a password policy of your choice. The KT range of tokens have an infrared input that allows the unit to be set via a management console.
